Description
"To explore strange, new worlds..."
As an artist I like an outer space scenes because it really lets you play with colour and composition, almost like an abstract painting. Some of the images from the Hubble Telescope look like pieces of art painted by the Universe itself. Although most of space is really pitch black, there are all sorts of colourful nebulas and planets out there. However, as an artist I'm not that concerned with realism. I'm more concerned with evoking a feeling. Like Michelangelo said to the Pope, if you want a realistic picture, mate, then “you want a bloody photographer!” (He never really said that, it's from Monty Python.)
